Tüpraş Continues to Support the Development of Students with Online Internship Program

Tüpraş continued its efforts for the development of university students also during the pandemic through online platforms. The company moved its internship program, which is mostly participated by juniors and seniors every year as a part of their mandatory university internship, to digital environment this year due to the measures against Covid-19. More than 200 students have successfully completed the evaluation that covered 5,660 applications in total and joined the online program in August and September.

Tüpraş will strengthen its new technology investments with the partnership of Emerald

Tüpraş signed a long-term partnership agreement with Emerald Industrial Innovation Fund, an International Venture Capital Fund, in order to invest in new tech start-ups in the USA and Europe. Actively continuing on its open innovation efforts in Turkey, Tüpraş aims to reach new tech start-ups operating abroad thanks to this partnership with Emerald.

Online Work Experience and Summer Internship Opportunity from Tüpraş for Young Talents

University students attend online trainings and projects and experience remote working during the pandemic as part of the “Nextremers” program, developed by Tüpraş. They will also have an opportunity to complete their summer internships remotely by working online, in accordance with the internship program to be implemented in August.

The company invested 311.5 million Turkish lira in R&D and environmental management, by integrating sustainability into all its processes from supply chain to after-sales operations in 2019. The R&D project entitled as “MOF4AIR”, including Tüpraş among its partners, has received 100% funding under the call “Advanced Carbon Dioxide Capture Technologies” of Horizon 2020 programme. The project succeeded in being one of the two projects funded by Horizon 2020 in scope of the call "Advanced Carbon Dioxide Capture Technologies".

Robotic Coding Classes of Tüpraş To Produce Brimmed Face Mask For Health Professionals

Tüpraş started to manufacture protective brimmed face masks for health professionals in its “Robotic Coding, 3D Modeling, Production-Skill” classes in 30 secondary schools, located in 4 cities, which were officially opened by the company in February. The target is to manufacture approximately 10,000 brimmed face masks in the first phase of the project, which is carried out under the coordination of Tüpraş and with the collaboration of Fundamental Education General Directorate of the Ministry of National Education, with the support of volunteer teachers of Technology and Design. Stating that unity and solidarity is the key to achieve success in fighting against the pandemic, İbrahim Yelmenoğlu, General Manager of Tüpraş, said, “We see this volunteer work as a bridge of solidarity between the youngsters that will build the future and the ones who raise those youngsters and ensure that the entire society have a healthy life”.

Tüpraş, Turkey’s leading industrial company, has announced its financial results for the final quarter of 2019. Tüpraş increased its revenues to 89.6 billion TL in 2019 with 28.1 million tons of production and 29.2 million tons of sales.

“Energy Efficiency” Award for Tüpraş

Tüpraş İzmir Refinery is awarded with the first prize in “Large Scale Enterprises” category of the Energy Efficiency Awards, organized by Istanbul Chamber of Industry (ISO). With this project, Tüpraş has achieved an energy saving equivalent to annual natural gas consumption of 39,000 houses in total, in a year.
