Collaborations

With the awareness of the fact that being innovative in changing environment will only be possible by integration company’s resources with outside sources and collaborations, we give great importance to national&international collaborations. Adopting "open innovation" principles, in addition to collaborations with universities, activities for improving the collaborations with other stakeholders to access the information onsite.

  • International Project Collaborations

    EU Framework Programs ve Horizon 2020 Projects

    Horizon 2020 is the EU Framework Program (FP) that aims to align and bring together all science and technology policies and practices in Europe. The first framework program was inaugurated in 1984; Horizon 2020 is the eighth FP covering the period 2014-2020. Currently, it is the most competitive funding program. It promises more breakthroughs, discoveries and world-firsts by taking great ideas from the lab to the market. Horizon 2020 is the financial instrument implementing the Innovation Union, a Europe 2020 flagship initiative aimed at securing Europe's global competitiveness. Tüpraş has taken part in 4 projects in EU Horizon 2020 projects. Horizon 2020: INTEGROIL - Demonstration of a Decision Support System for a Novel Integrated Solution aimed at Water Reuse in the Oil & Gas Market INTEGROIL aims to use advanced wastewater treatment technologies in wastewater recovery and resource conservation in the oil industry and develop technologies to meet the needs of the industry. Also, the decision support system will be developed under the project for energy efficiency and resource reduction.

    Horizon 2020: SafeAST - Continuous structural condition tank integrity monitoring of Above Ground Storage Tanks The increasing importance of preventive maintenance instead of corrective maintenance and the high maintenance costs has increased the interest of in service monitoring systems. The SafeAST Project aims to develop a new product to measure bottom plate thickness of storage tanks during service by using the guided wave method.

    Horizon 2020:Indus3Es - Industrial Energy and Environment Efficiency

    The objective of the Indus3Es Project, is to develop an innovative, compact, and economically competitive absorption heat transformer (AHT) for the recovery and revalorization of low-quality waste heat from industrial processes, which can also be adapted to new conditions.     Horizon 2020:FUDIPO (Future Directions of Production Planning and Optimized Energy and Process Industries)

    The purpose of FUDIPO is to develop, implement in full-scale, and validate system for optimization on all levels in a factory integrating the different control levels from the separate production units to mill level or even corporation level.

    FP7: CitInes - Design of a decision support tool for sustainable, reliable and cost-effective energy strategies in cities and industrial complexes

    The overall objective of CitInES was to design and develop two multi-scale multi-energy decision-support tools to optimize the energy strategy of cities and large industrial complexes by enabling them to define sustainable, reliable and cost-effective long-term energy plans.     EUREKA is an intergovernmental, market- driven organization for industrial R&D and innovation, providing support to enterprises for the development of commercial products and processes. EUREKA individual projects are market-driven international R&D projects. This network brings together the European economy over forty country, and also includes Israel, South Korea and Canada. ASPHALTGEN - New Self-Healing Asphalft Agglomerate For More Durability And Low Maintenance Of Surface Roads The project was aimed to contribute to viable and economic solutions for the maintenance of the road networks by means of the self-healing concept with the objective of improving the security of the users and avoiding unnecessary costs. To achieve these goals, new method development studies were conducted.

    HEROES - High Efficiency Refinery Optimisation Systems

    The objective of the project was to develop and test an advanced IT Product able to perform an energy efficient guided operation, aimed to reduce energy consumption and increase marginal profit in crude oil refining processes

  • EU Platforms

    EURtOGIA+

    EUROGIA+ was a EUREKA Cluster for Low-Carbon Energy Technologies, to meet the increase in energy consumption, to prevent climate change and public / private participation through R & D partnerships in order to ensure sustainable investments. Decision making mechanism for international and multi- partner EUROGIA+ projects was Board and a Technical Committee composed of representatives of the Board members and of Research institutes/Universities. Tüpraş had completed membership in September 2010 and also was elected to the Board of Directors of EUROGIA+ Platform. With participation to EUROGIA+ Platform, Tüpraş had the opportunity to facilitate the deployment of existing technologies and support the development of highly innovative new technical solutions. Tüpraş was the first Turkish company selected on the platform. Tüpraş has resigned from Eurogia2020 membership; but continues the relations with the platform.

    ASPIRE

    ASPIRE is a non-profit international association that represents private sector on SPIRE public-private partnership (Public-Private Partnership PPP) and established as part of the Horizon 2020 Framework Programme.

    The association represents more than ninety participants from industry and research institutions from more than ten countries across Europe. The aim of the association is to provide resources for enabling technologies and development of best practices to the process industry. Tüpraş has been the first Turkish company joined the platform. Representing the private sector in such platforms that shapes EU policies and projects has great importance for our country.

  • Collaborations With Universities

    Recognizing the relevant departments of universities as essential stakeholders of R&D Center, Tüpraş collaborates with university groups. In this context, scientific approaches and wide knowledge in the universities have created value for our R&D projects. Therefore, Tüpraş has made strategic collaborations with different universities.
